Hong DongBing, Ba Qiu is his assumed name, born JiangSu in 1947. He joined the People' Liberation Army (PLA) in 1968, transferred to civilian work in TaiZhou in 1979. He is the chairman of TaiZhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He likes arts and Chinese Calligraphy and Painting from his childhood. Ba Qiu issued his novel and proses. He has been specializing in Chinese Calligraphy and Painting over long-term.
In December 1997, Ba Qiu Chinese Landscape Paintings Show was hold in JiangSu Art Gallery. During this show his works were published on XinHua Daily and YangZi Evening Paper.
In November 1999, his WuYi Autumn Dusk was selected in Chinese Painting Masters Exhibition.
In May 2000, his work was selected to attend Chinese Calligraphy Fine Art in Macao, and won the Silver Prize.
Since 2004 his works have been selected to show in Chinese mainland, won prizes and published every year.
Now Ba Qiu is a member of JiangSu Artists' Association, a member of JiangSu Calligraphers Association, a calligrapher of Calligraphy Academe of JiangSu Chinese Painting Gallery. A visiting professor of ZhongYuan Calligraphy & Painting Gallery. A specially-appointed artist of TaiZhou Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Gallery.

Fierce the west wind,
Wild geese cry under the frosty morning moon.
Under the frosty morning moon
Horses' hooves clattering,
Bugles sobbing low.

Idle boast the strong pass is a wall of iron,
With firm strides we are crossing its summit.
We are crossing its summit,
The rolling hills sea-blue,
The dying sun blood-red.
